CANCUN

By Amy Martens

I left Minneapolis from the Hubert Humphrey Termainl on Sun Country, the airline serves free food versus other airlines are now charging for the meals, it was about a 4 hour flight, very smooth, no problems.

After getting into Cancun we went thru Customs which is a breeze now with everybody having passports, the Karisma Lomas Tour Director met us outside the Airport and lead us to the buses to go over the hotel, about 40 minutes away, not bad.

We were checked in and had the afternoon off, so a bunch of agents and myself went over to Jo Jo's to eat some Dinner and then went to the Swim up Bar and Pool, very nice.

At 5:00 P.M. we had a sight inspection of the hotel and carted us around in Golf carts, and it started to rain. They showed us many different rooms, the one with the swim up pools and Casita's also, very nice and then took us to the Presidental Suite, Very Nice. We went over to the Las Fuentes and they had 6 different kitchens to choose from food and chefs cooked your food right in front of you, very nice, after that we went to the Theatre to watch a Circus Sol Lei show, very nice, we all went to Las Guacamyas to dance.

Day 2 we toured El Dorado Seaside Suites, Adults Only property, Very Nice, smaller property and then we went over to Azul Fives Hotel, this hotel was not completely finished, they showed us a show room and showed us a Video of all the things that are coming to the hotel, very educational.

We toured the El Dorado Maroma next, smaller property, they showed us all types of rooms there as well, and we ate lunch there at Sabores, we expereienced a lobster martini there, it was lobster bits in wine sauce, with chow meain noodles, very interesting, but very good.

We then went over to the Azul Beach, this hotel excepts children, they offer a Child Care Center, where children can back Crafts, and then offer video games for the teenagers also, only 92 rooms, but very spread out.

Then we went over to the Azul View, they were pouring Cement at this hotel, they only had the main walls up, not even the elevators were put in yet, so it was very dangerous to are 23 agents touring the property, they had 1 show room to show us, very nice. This hotel will be very luxurious, with many restaurants and activities. The new Secrets Excellence was being built right next door. Both scheduled to open in November of 2008.

We ate Dinner at the Cocotel Restaurant, very delicious!!!, we had Steak as one of the options, and many vegetarian meals as well, I took the Steak, I like my meat.

After we went over to Bar Las Guacamayas, and at about 12:30 in the morning the lights turned off, here there was a fire at the La Fondue Restaurant, one of their ovens was left on, so they were getting water from the pools to distinguish the fire, it was bad. The said they would close to the restaurant and be reopen in 14 days. The Fire trucks came in and got stuck in a Ravine and of course they were right in front of our rooms, so we heard the fire engine horn all night.

Day 3, we did not have Hot water in our showers because of the Fire. We had class from 9-1:00 P.M., the Mangers, Wedding ordinators and tour directors came in to speak and talk about the Karisma Hotels, this gave us a opportunity to ask questions about the Hotels, very educational.

We had the afternoon off so two Travel agents and my self took a taxi to 5th Avenue and went shopping, one of the agents gets a lot of her medications from Mexico, we toured around and then eat at Senior Frogs for a appetitizer and a refreshment, and headed it back since we didn’t have a whole lot of time.

We had our farewell dinner at La Isla, they offered us Steak again and other options and then we got Crème Bell'e for desert, very good, I would recommend that restaurant to anybody.

Im so glad I got the opportunity to go to this Karisma Fam Trip, it was very educational and well worth it, I recommend any other agent that has not gone to this Fam Trip to go.

Thank You
